A number of years back, my husband and I discovered that we have some talents in our family – some creative abilities in design and photography. However, we were not serious to find opportunities to allow them to grow. There were times of necessity that we were challenged to make use of our abilities. One such instance was when we were teaching in the Caribbean - I used to teach business management and my husband, being a biologist, used to teach biology - We thought it would be convenient if students could go to a website and download course materials and learn their class schedules. Therefore, we started learning to design simple websites, register domains and maintain them. As these were the first teaching websites in that university, they caused much excitement among students and colleagues. We also received recognition from the higher authorities of the University. That first experience helped us realize how much Internet and digital technology can amazingly make our life easier.
Over the past few years, both my husband and I have been taking classes to expand our knowledge on web design and digital image editing. One of my husband’s longtime hobbies is photography! Much through several voluntary services in church and university, he has fine-tuned his photography skills to take pictures in small get-togethers and performances. We have also had the opportunity of designing and maintaining a few html/css based websites.
As Bible believers, we believe that we are created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27: ….”So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them”.), and that it is God’s idea to make us into wealth creators (Deut 8:18: But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth… ) and Kingdom builders.
